Technical Notes

There are several modules are being modified in order to complete tickets included in this release.

• RS232 communication protocol between Debit/Visa terminal and POS terminal has been modified to allow multiple payment system integration in the future. Vx810 (the only model that's integrated prior to this release) also migrated to this new framework. It is necessary to perform a physical test to ensure it is working.
• The native auto-installer has been tested. However, it may cause support deployment tools (i.e. batch file installer) to become not functional. An upgrade may be necessary for new support deployment script to be compatible with the new system.
• We've changed the compiler on the build machine to be compliant with Windows 10 UI presentation framework "Continuum".
• This new build have a new digital signature to seal and package the .exe file. This is necessary to ensure the binary is not compromised and it is required by new Windows 10 standard.
• This new build consists of linux run-time that's not activated at this moment. However, it is already integrate with Docker windows system which allow WarpPOS to be run on Linux base system directly without Windows OS.
• This new binary build also consists of cross-platform detector, it will detect whether the .exe is being executed on x86/x64/ARM processor. At this moment, there's no public support for ARM processor but we will enable such functionality in the near future.
• This new binary build includes the ADO.NET connector that's required for SQL Server 2014 to utilize several advanced monitoring system within SQL Server 2014.
• This new binary includes MySQL database connector which is not enabled at this moment.
• This new binary includes DynamoDB NoSQL binary for upcoming releases. At this moment, it is not being used.
• This new binary includes new Hadoop Mapreduce engine for upcoming releases. At this moment, it is not being used.
• This new binary includes NexSigns communication API adapter which will be used in upcoming releases. At this moment, it is not being used.
• This new binary includes OpenCV library which will be used in upcoming releases. At this moment, it is not being used.
